Originals

These are our passion projects. They’re where we get to experiment and tell stories we genuinely believe should be told. A spark of curiosity, or a truth that deserves to be seen, stories that might otherwise go untold.

Bona Fide (Mieletön Vilppi)

A three-part Elisa Viihde true crime series directed and written by Terjo Aaltonen. Based on Marko Erola and Jouni Ranta’s books, it chronicles how Jouni Ranta and Veli Seppä pulled off one of Europe’s biggest art frauds by selling Finland full of forged masterpieces. The series premiered on Elisa Viihde in August 2024.

Diving into the Unknown (Takaisin pintaan)

An 85-minute feature doc directed by Juan Reina and produced by Juho Harjula. It follows Finnish cave divers who secretly re-enter Norway’s Plura cave to recover the bodies of two friends after authorities abandoned the official rescue. The film premiered at DocPoint Helsinki in 2016 and had its international premiere at Visions du Réel, earning acclaim for its raw emotional impact and immersive underwater cinematography.

Finnish Bears – in production

A feature-length documentary directed by Otso Alanko and produced by Juho Harjula, Finnish Bears follows Finland’s national cricket team — a passionate group chasing an unlikely dream: to qualify for the Cricket World Cup.

With exclusive access, the film centers on team manager Andy, star player Amjad, and veteran Van as they prepare for the European qualifiers held in Finland. Funny, emotional, and full of heart, Finnish Bears is an underdog sports story about identity, belonging, and ambition in a country where cricket barely exists.
